Quilt Block of the Month

Block # 2

Ladies Wreath      May will always be a month that we celebrate anyone who has been a mother or has had a mother.  So we
celebrate all women.  This block, "Ladies Wreath", I hope shares that special bond.
 

* please make note that many of the fabric requirement are cut a bit larger than actually needed.  This will make it easier to square up the various pieces in each block.

fabric requirements:

6 - 3 1/2" light squares
4 - 2 1/2" light squares
6 - 3 1/2" dark squares

 Step # 1  make half square triangles:
 

1.  Following  diagram #1 to make half square triangles. Use the 3 1/2" light squares and the 3 1/2"dark
     squares .   Mark a pencil line across the diagonal.  Sew 1/4" on each side of the pencil mark. Cut apart
     on the pencil line.  Press each square to the darker fabric.  Square up each square to 2 1/2" each.

 Step # 2

1. Align these units with the 2 1/2" squares and sew together in vertical rows then horizontial rows as shown below:

2. Square up to 8 1/2".
