fabric requirements:
5 - 2 1/2" squares light
5 - 3 1/2" squares light
1 - 3 1/2" square medium light
2 - 3 1/2" squares medium
1 - 2 1/2" square medium dark
1 - 3 1/2" square medium dark
1 - 3 1/2" square dark

Step # 1 make half square triangles:
1. Following diagram #1 to make half square triangles.
Mark a pencil line across the diagonal. Sew 1/4" on each
side of the pencil mark. Cut apart on the
pencil line. Press each square to the darker fabric. Square
up each
square to 2 1/2" each.
2. Using all the 3 1/2" squares for your half square triangles
use one light square against each of the other colors .
a. light to medium light
b. light to medium
c. light to medium dark
d. light to dark
Step # 2
1. Lay out the squares as shown below:
2. Sew together first vertically then horizontally to complete block.
3. Square up to 8 1/2".
