Fabric Requirements:

8 - 4 1/2" squares of     8 - 4 1/2" squares of 
****Please note that on many of the sizes of fabric requirements are cut larger than necessary to accomidate
      any possible problems when squaring up the half square triangles ******

Step # 1  Make half square triangles

1.  Following  diagram #1 to make half square triangles.  Mark a pencil line across the diagonal of the
     squares.  Sew 1/4" on each  side of the pencil mark. Cut apart on the pencil line.  Press each square to the
     darker fabric.

2.  When these half square triangles are completed they will look like this:
3.  Press each piece to the darker fabric.  Square each half square triange to 3 1/2".

Step #2 Assembly:

1.  Line your half square triangles in rows as shown in the diagram below:

2.  Sew in rows first veritcally  then horizontally.
3.  Press and square up block to 12 1/2"
