Block # 1
 


rainbow flower

    The dog days of summer are here and the flowers are in full bloom... and the gentle rains of summer are also here.  What better combination is there than rainbows and flowers during the summer?  So for the first of our August blocks have fun playing in the "rainbow flower" garden.
 

* please make note that many of the fabric requirement are cut a bit larger than actually needed.  This will make it easier to square up the various pieces in each block.

 fabric requirements:

1 - 2 1/2" square light
3 - 2 1/2" square light/medium
5 - 2 1/2" squares medium
7 -  2 1/2" squares medium/dark

Step #1

1. Arrange all the 2 1/2" squares as shown below:

2.  Sew in rows both vertically and horizontally to complete block.

Step # 2

1. Square up to 8 1/2".
