Star of Bethlehem

Star patterns have been favorites of quilters for years, virtually representing every geographical location or time of day, reproduced over and over again.  This title is obviously taken from the Star of Bethlehem that led the Wise Men to the infant Jesus.  The diagram shows the block with a light center. A dark center can also be used.

Cutting Instructions:

Color A = dark
Color B = light

#1         Color B for all of these pieces

As you can see from the diagram these pieces will require some percision in cutting. A template or rotary cutter can be used to accomplish cutting these 4 pieces. Remember: be sure you reverse your template or cutting so you have a mirror image.

Using the diagram above as a model for stitching block can be assembled in sections. First sew together the left and right sides of the block. making 2 sections using pieces #1 and #2.
Use pieces #2 and #3 to make the top and bottom central sections.  Attach all completed sections to the center piece #4..

The completed block will measure 12 1/2" (if my measurements are correct).
