The Latest Swap Compositions!
................
These two pop-up cards are some I just
completed for a swap. I was unsure just how they would come out
since I have little experience with pop-up
cards... I was quite astonished that they came out as well
as they did!!!

A Rose is a Rose...
Under the Sea...
I just completed these two compositions for
swaps that I am in. The front of the first card, "A Rose is a
Rose" is done in various leaves and tiny roses with my dragon fly stamp.
The center of the card is cut out and a plastic window is presented.
This allows for you to look into the fairy that is on the inside surrounded
in larger roses. The car has a number of 3-d items. There
is also an edging surrounding the window on the inside of the card.
The second card is "Under the Sea",
is done with a variety of different stamps. On the front of the card
there are three different stamps. The taller stamp includes the sea horse
and star fish with some sea shells. I added a small mermaid and smaller
shells to the left of the card. The center is cut away with a plastic
window to the inside of the card. On the inside is a stamped "word
puzzle" for the enjoyment of the receivers. I accented the card with
a small verse to entice the receiver. "Dive Right In!".
Both of these compositions were fun to do
and I have enjoyed the opportunity to add these to some of my favorite
compositions!

This composition will accompany
a Wedding Shower gift for my niece Angela who is getting married in April.
I also did her wedding invitations. They can be seen at the bottom
of this page.
This composition
is a combination of both rubber stamping and Pergamano (also known as Parchment
Crafting).
The design is hand embossed and painted in
the Pergamano style and the outer floral points are cut away using the
perforation tool designed for this purpose. The stamp used for this
composition is by Anette M Watkins it
is very difficult for me to read the credit for this stamp so please indulge
me a bit).G1153 (1993).
Victorian Mother and Child
I had such fun making this victorian theme composition. It is a 3-dementional piece that I have mounted as a picture and hung on the wall of my studio. All but one of the stamps used here came from swaps that I was in on the internet (via the rubberstamps listserv). The victorian House in the back ground is a stamp made by Arizona Stamps Too! When I first saw this stamp several years ago I just had to have it. At that time I had no idea what I was going to do with it and my first attempts at putting it together in a composition were not that successful.. Patience has paid off and now I have this composition that I am pleased with. Doing this composition has started my mind going in many directions in which I know I will now explore.

This fairy composition is my first attempt at making a shaker card. I use the fairy stamp from Embossing Arts (802-J felica fuchsia). The interior element was some confetti and fairy dust (ultra-fine gold glitter) to give an illusion of magical fun. The card is embossed with a plum pearl embossing powder an the frame is boarders with the "Class A Peel" board stickers in the multi colors. The back ground is done using blow pens. Of course I have plans to make many more shaker cards.!

This is a wedding invitation that
I just complete for a couple who will marry this April. The scan
of the second
(interior) of the card was a bit crooked.
The invitation is done on a marbled, ivory parchment with a torn edge.
Each of the stamps are custom made. There are actually 6 different
stamps that I designed for this wedding set. You see four different stamps
on the announcement. Other stamps included a return address stamp
and a stamp for the reception cards. They too were on matching parchment.
The front of the card is embossed with Psychedelic Embossing powder while
the inside of the announcements are stamped with black pigment ink and
embossed with a clear embossing powder.
This set of wedding invitations was done for a couple a year and a half ago. The bride chose the Precious Moments Bride and Groom shown on the front of the card. The paper is a pink marbled parchment with a torn edge. The card is stamped with black pigment ink and embossed with clear embossing powder. I used a variety of brush markers to color in the bride and groom. The stamps for the announcement, reception cards and envelopes were custom made to meet the desired comments the couple wanted.
*Both Couples were more than pleased
with the outcome of their wedding invitations. I have had two other
orders for wedding invitations as a result of these invitations.
"Wise Men Sill Worship Him"
I thought I would add to
this collection of compositions one of the many different Holiday
and Christmas Cards that I have done over the last several years.
This particular card has a permanent place at my work station. This
3-d composition is a stand alone pop-up card. It is layered in for
levels and cut away so that the card can lay flat in and envelope or stand
up alone on a desk, table or mantle. The primary stamp is one of
my own an one of the very first stamps I ever casted when I began my endeavor
into making my own stamps. It it a stained glass image. I
stamped the image and embossed with gold this image 4 different times so
that I could cut away various pieces to create the 3-d effect. I
then used a soft yellow glitter glue to go around the dove for the
spiritual effect that I wanted to accomplish. The final stamp
"Wise
Men Still Worship Him" , is a stamp I acquired in a swap several years
ago so I do not have the credits. I have seen this verse from
a variety of companies over the years. For added pleasure I used
the victorian Friskar paper scissors and then took a light blue/gray brush
marker and went around the outer edges. I hope you enjoy this one
as much as I have.

As I continue to add to this page I thought
I would share with you one of the compositions I did recently while in
the hospital. Using the "emergency stamping kit" I put together I
was able to create this 3-d horse composition. Of course the piece
is a bit "rough" around the edges but definitely was a life saver for me
while I was in a hospital bed! The composition amazed not only Doctors
and other staff but many who came to visit me or my room mates.
The other composition <on the right>
is a small business card sized spiritual thoughts card. I carry these in
my purse all the time to give to friends or will place one of many different
designs from the same sets in cards or letters that I send out...
they are well received and a great addition to my ongoing love of rubber
stamping.
I just completed this composition for a swap on the internet.
The example above is my "working" copy. I like to make one or two
"working" pieces when doing compositions for a swap... these "not so perfect"
compositions give me not only the idea of what needs adjusted but also
color combinations, depth perceptions, and stamp placement. I am
also able to see just what stamps work the best as I would things out.
Even having a good idea what you want to accomplish is not enough sometimes
until you put it to the paper.
