Parchment Crafting
for
February 1999

February is a month of hearts and flowers... and of course roses are one of the
favorite flowers we send to our loved ones.  I hope you enjoy this flower for
February 1999

 Tracing:
Trace all lines of flowers, vines and the smaller flower design in the perforation grid.

Embossing:
1.   Use medium bowl embossing tool to emboss all areas that are traced.
2.   Use a large bowl embossing tool to emboss the centers of the smaller flowers in the perforation grid

Painting:
1. Mix 1 drop of pinta perla green with 2 drops of pintura white.  Paint lightly on surface of composition with this mixture.

2.  Mix 1 drop of red pintura with 2 drops of white pinta perla to make a soft pink.  Apply this mixture to the center rose.

*  optional: use 2 drops of white pintura and 1/2 drop of purple.  Use this as a high light on the rose pedals.  Be careful if using this option so that the mixture is not to strong.  Smudge off any excess paint for the highlight.

3.  Mix 2 drops of white with one drop of turquoise.  Apply this mixture to the outer, smaller roses.  Be sure again that this mixture is a soft light hint of color.

Dorsing:

1.  On the inside of the perforating grid use a blue dorsing crayon and blend into it the red dorsing crayon.  Blend these colors together with outward movement.

Perforating:

1.  Follow perforation grid using the 4 prong tool.
2.  Cut away x's from the four prong perforations.

Finishing touches:

1. Use decorative paper scissors to create the bottom edge of the card.

* note:  This composition can be done either vertically or horizontally
