Indian Puzzle





1.  Fabric Requirements:
1 - 4 1/2" square of.... ......20" x 2 1/2" strip of..........20" x 2 1/2" strip of......
2 - 5" squares of .............2 - 5" squares of  
 
 

Step # 2  Make half square triangles
1.  Using the ......2 - 5" squares of .............2 - 5" squares of  ...  make half square triangles.

2.  Following  diagram #1 to make half square triangles.  Mark a pencil line across the diagonal of the
     squares.  Sew 1/4" on each  side of the pencil mark. Cut apart on the pencil line.  Press each square to the
     darker fabric.

3.  Square up each square to 4 1/2".

Step #3.  4-patchs:
1.  Sew lengthwise the 2 -  20" strips (2 1/2" wide).

2.  Cut vertically  every 2 1/2".  Making 8 pieces.
3.  Sew two sections together to make 4 patch as shown here:  .   Make 4 - 4 patches measuring 4 1/2" x 4 1/2".

4.  Press each section and square up to 4 1/2"

Step # 4.  Assembly:

1.  Lay out each completed section as shown below:

2.  Using 1/4" seam, sew each sectiion together. Sew Vertical sections then horizontal sections to complete the block

This block should measure 12 1/2" when completed.
