1. Trace along the outer deckled edge with white ink also use
white ink to trace the 'tear drops inside the apple
surrounding the fairy. Use red ink
on rose buds, dark green on leaves, turquoise or blue on dress
and shoes,
yellow on the wings, sepia on the wooden
stem. For the hair use you own judgment on the coloring of the ink.
Use black ink to outline the apple.
2. Using a white colored pencil trace the grid lines using a ruler or other straight edge.
Embossing:
1. Use a medium ball embossing tool and emboss around the deckled
edge and around each area of the fairy in the
apple. Use a small bowl embossing
tool to emboss the tear drops surrounding the fairy.
2. Follow the grid using a ruler or other straight edge to emboss
with medium embossing tool the diamond formed
lines across the front.
3. Use a small embossing tool to emboss around all areas of
the fairy and the flowers as well as the outline of
the apple.
Dorsing:
1. Use a soft red-orange dorsing crayon for the apple.
It will not do any harm if this coloring runs over onto the
fairy when being rubbed out.
2. From the outline of the apple, outwardly blend orange to yellow to cover the entire back of the design.
Painting:
1. Use Watercolor pencils to lightly paint in blue on the front
of the image of the fairy's dress, a light green for
the leaves, red or pink for the roses,
yellow for the wings.
Perforations:
1. Follow the grid shown and use appropriate tools to make perforations.
The center should be at least the 4-prong
tool as you will be cutting your x's from this
center area... If you have an 8-prong tool that provides this
type of
perforation this is the ideal... if not punch
your 4-prong perforation and then use a 2-prong tool for even spacing.
Continue to follow the grid for proper spacing.
2. Cut away x's from the center of each of these perforated areas.
3. Use 3-prong tool on perforation marking on the top of each
of the tear drops the apple area perforate and then
cut away the inner area to make
the 3-way cut away.
4. Use a single prong perforation tool to perforate where
each of the gridded diamonds of the front come together.
5. Use the 2-prong tool around outer edge of the deckled outer
edge and then tear away the excess paper.
