Fancy Bow Tie

***  all seams are 1/4"   ****

 Step # 1.  Fabric Requirements:

2 - 4 1/2" ....  5 - 3" ......755  - 3" ...........1 - 3 1/4" ....

6 - 2 1/2' .............................88 - 2 1/2"...

Step #2. Diagonal cuts:
  1.  Cut 1 of each of the 3" ...and  one of the 3" ..on the diagonal and set aside for the time being.
 

Step # 3  Make half square triangles
1.  Using the ...44 - 3" squares of ....  and the 4 - 3" squares of....  make half square triangles.

2.  Following  diagram #1 to make half square triangles.  Mark a pencil line across the diagonal of the
     squares.  Sew 1/4" on each  side of the pencil mark. Cut apart on the pencil line.  Press each square to the
     darker fabric.

3.  Square up each square to 2 1/2'.
 

Step #4.  Center square:

  1.  Sew to opposite sides each of the diagonal cuts.  Sew the light green across from each other then  then sew the
      dark green to the opposite sides as shown in the diagram. 
 

  2. there will be tabs to the outer edges of the center  they can be cut off if this is your preference.

 3.  Square up to 4 1/2"
 

Step #5.  Assembly:

1.  Lay pieces out as shown below:

2.  Sew together with 1/4" seams. First vertically then horizontally.

When completed square up to 12 1/2' .   This completes your block.
