Block of the Month

    This block was a toss up between being the block for May or the block for October.  Especially since we see in the sky shooting stars in high volume these times of the year as different meteors pass through our atmosphere.
  Well May won out as you can see.  So let us begin ...

Fabric Requirements:
4 - 3 1/2" squares light =...........................
4 - 4" squares light =..................
4 - 3 1/2" squares medium =.....
4 = 4" squares dark =.................
 
 
 

Step # 1  Make half square triangles

1.  Following  diagram #1 to make half square triangles.  Mark a pencil line across the diagonal of the
     squares.  Sew 1/4" on each  side of the pencil mark. Cut apart on the pencil line.  Press each square to the
     darker fabric.

Step # 2
1.  Make 8 - half square triangles  using the 4" squares of  and the 4" squares of 

2.  Press, then square up each half square triangle to 3 1/2".

Step # 3  Assembly

1.  Line up squares as shown in the diagram: ..............

2.  Sew rows together fist vertically then horizontally.

3.  Press, then square up block to 12 1/2'
