For the Month of may I decided a special flower would be my inspiration. This flower can be shared as a table center piece or even to add a special touch to that surprise package for this special day. Of course it has its special year round beauty that can be used in many other creative ways. I hope you enjoy this special flower.

Tracing:
1. Use white ink to trace all outside edges of each petal
as well as the lines on the larger petal.
2. Use pencil (or ink) to mark the cutting lines on the smaller
petals
3. Use pencil (or ink) to mark the fold on each petal.
Make a small mark off the edge so you will be able to fine
with some ease where your folds will
be made.
Dorsing:
1. Use a red dorsing crayon at the base of each of the larger petals
and a blue blended outwardly from the center
of each petal.
2. Use red dorsing crayon for inner petals.
Embossing:
1. Emboss using a small embossing tool to all outer edges
of each petal and to the lines on the larger petals.
2. Use large bowl embossing tool (or hockey tool) to emboss the
larger petals between the lines for a blended look
3. Use a medium size embossing tool to emboss all the circles
on the outer edge of the larger petals
Perforations:
1. Use 2 prong tool to go around the outer edge of each petal,
both large and small. Tear away excess paper.
Assembly of inner petals:
1. Cut out the grid in the pattern and a 2" square of card
stock. Glue the grid to the 2" square of card stock
This will become the base for your flowers.
2. Cut straight along the cutting lines for the inner petals.
In a 'square' put these pieces together so that the points
are at the top. (see in above pattern
for assembly hints.)
3. Fold outwardly from each larger petal on the fold
lines.
4. Turn outer side toward you with the folded wing facing
up. Glue these one to the next to complete a six petal
inner flower.
5. Following the grid in the base glue down the smaller inner
flower bud.
6. Follow the grid for placement of the larger petals, glue
the flower to the base using glue gun or other adhesive.
Outer Petals :
Tracing:
1. Use Green ink for all
stems and flowers.
2. Use white ink for outline and
the tear drop surrounding the flower and leaves.
3. Use white ink for both flower
buds
Embossing:
1. Use small embossing tool to
emboss outside edge flowers, leaves and line of the tear drops.
2. Use medium embossing tool to
emboss the two small dots to the bottom of each of the tear drops.
Dorsing:
1. Use a green dorsing
crayon for the inner length of each petal and use yellow dorsing crayon
to the outer edge
of the
green.
2. Rub outwardly in circular
motion to blend the dorsing colors.
Painting:
(do all painting
on the front surface of each petal.
1. Use the perla green
for the leaves and stems on each petal.
2. Use perla yellow on 3 of the
petals.
3. Use perla white on 3 of the
petal.
Perforations:
1. Use the 4 prong perforation tool
as shown on the pattern grid. Cut away to make x's.
2. Use the 2 prong perforation tool
around the outer edge of each petal. Tear away excess paper to form
the
completed petals.
Assembly:
1. Using a pair of scissors
curl each petal outwardly. This process should be of a light stretch...
If you do
curl to much you can undo some of this
by gently running scissors in opposite direction or lay over the edge of
a
table and gently loosen the curl.
2. Using a glue gun or other securing
glue, to secure each petal evenly to the bottom of the gridded base.
Align
each outer petal
so they lay in the seam each of the inner petals with the finished side
upward. You want these
outer petals to take on the allure of 'floating
leaves'
3. Trim away any of the excess card
stock if necessary from the base... trying to give the base a 'rounded'
appearance.
