A Little Bit'O This
and
A Little Bit'O That
Mystery Quilt #5
installment # 1
June 14, 1999
Have you ever wondered what to do with those larger pieces of scraps that you have laying around in your stash.  Or how  to use some of the FQ's that you have in your stash.  Well here is a Mystery to be fulfilled that uses so many of these pieces.

This Mystery Quilt will be built in 7 installment and when completed will measure 94" x 70".
Installments will be made on the second and forth  Monday of each month until completion. I have now made this quilt twice so that I would be sure to have all the fabric requirements as correct as possible.

This quilt will also be built by using a specific color scheme.  That is in all purples, all reds, all greens etc.  Of course you can also do it as a scrappy quilt if you like and that is where your desires take you.

Here is a sampling of a color scheme using Purples
(since I made one of my quilts in Purples the other one I did was using Black's and Whites)

Fabric Requirements:
48 - 8" squares of a variety of different prints in all of one / same color scheme
12 - 4" squares of a variety of different prints in all of one / same color scheme
1 1/3 yard Dark Marbled or Jeweled tone following same color scheme
1 1/3 yard Medium Marbled or Jeweled tone following same color scheme
2 yards of White on White

cutting instructions:

1.  Cut both the medium and dark marble/jewel tone fabrics in 8" strips. (6 strips each)
2.  Cut across every 8" to make 8" squares.  You will need 30 squares of each color.
3.  Cut 6 1/2" strips of the White on White (10 strips)
4.  Cut across every 6 1/2" to make 6 1/2" squares
5.  From the remainder of your fabric cut one additional 6 1/2" x 6 1/2" square. (total of 61
     6 1/2" squares.)

** Because it may take you some time to aquire the 48 different prints in your chosen color scheme
the only thing that we are doing for this installment will be the cutting instructions. ***
