Block # 2

Brown Goose
  November and Thanksgiving go hand in hand and not only the Turkey but the fatted goose are symbols of this day of feasting.  Here is a "Brown Goose" to make your feast a day to remember.

fabric requirements:

8 - 3 1/2" light squares
8 - 3 1/2" dark squares

* please make note that many of the fabric requirement are cut a bit larger than actually needed.  This will make it easier to square up the various pieces in each block.
 

Step # 1  make half square triangles:
 

1.  Following  diagram #1 to make half square triangles.  Mark a pencil line across the diagonal of the 3 1/2"
     squares.  Sew 1/4" on each  side of the pencil mark. Cut apart on the pencil line.  Press each square to the
     darker fabric.  Square up eachsquare to 2 1/2" each.

 2. Make half square triangles using:
     Use 8 light and 8 dark squares (makes 16 units)
 
 


 

Step # 2

1.  Line up squares as shown below:

2.  Sew rows in vertical and horizontal directions to complete block.
 

3. Square up to 8 1/2".
