Quilt Block of the Month
for
October, 1998
Fabric requirements:
2 - 3 1/2" squares - deep green
2 - 3 1/2" squares - blue
1 - 3 1/2" square - yellow
2 - 3 1/2" squares - wine
3 - 4" squares - deep green
2 - 4" squares - blue
2 - 4" squares - yellow
3 - 4" squares - wine
Half Square Triangles: (all seam allowances 1/4")
1. Cut all the 4" squares in half on the diagonal.
2. Following the diagram below make half square triangles in
this color scheme:
a. 1 - yellow - green
b. 3 - wine - green
c. 1 - yellow - wine
d. 1 - yellow - blue
e. 1 - yellow - green
3. Cut one wine and one yellow and one green triangle (the
remaining triangles from the 4" squares) in half as shown :
4. Sew together as shown: 
5. Square up to 3 1/2" all the half square triangles
and the two block made above.
Assembly:
1. following the block layout shown at the top (October's
Block of the month) sew together and square up you block to 12 1/2"
