Missouri Star
The Missouri Star has long been a favorite star block of mine.
I have a King size quilt made in this star pattern. I have also made
it into a number of sampler quilts as well as for block swaps over the
years. I hope you enjoy this block pattern as much as I do.
Fabric requirements
4 - 3 1/2" squares of ....

- 4" squares of ..........
cut on the diagonal
1 - 7 3/4" square of ....
cut on both diagonals.................2 -
4 1/2" squares of.....
1 - 4 3/4" square of ....
...........................................................2
- 4 1/2" squares of ....
Step # 1 Make half square triangles
1. Using the ...2 - 4 1/2" squares
of ....
and the 2 - 4 1/2" squares of.....
make half square triangles.
2. Following diagram #1 to make half square triangles.
Mark a pencil line across the diagonal of the
squares. Sew 1/4" on each side
of the pencil mark. Cut apart on the pencil line. Press each square
to the
darker fabric.

3. Cut the half squares on the diagonal as shown:
step #2. Piecing
1. Using the 1 - 4 3/4" square of

the center of the block sew on point the .2
- 4" squares of .
cut on the diagonal,
sew together as shown.

2. Press and square up this unit to 6 1/2" being sure that the points measure 3 1/4' from center to outer edges.
3. With the 1 - 7 3/4" square of

cut on both diagonals, sew one of the cut half square triangles to each
side as shown.

Press and square up to 6 1/2" x 3 1/2". Make 4 units.
Step #3 Assembly
1. sew together the center areas first as shown.
. Using remaining sections make rows
as shown.

up these rows as follow and see in
horizontal rows acroos the block to complete.

2. Press and square up finished block to
