The Luck of the Irish
1. Tracing:
1. Trace all the boarders, the "beard" and the single dot of the tartan of the leprechaun in Tinta White*
2. Trace the exterior lines of the leprechaun in Tinta Groen Green Ink (04T).
3. Trace the "snake" and horn in Gold ink.
4. Trace the "plaid and face in Sepia Ink
*(although there are many different inks
available on the market I have yet to find any of the available "white"
inks that
compare to the Pergamano Tinta
White Ink. I suggest that you play around with many of the other
colorful inks
available on the market to
use in your compositions. This composition is one that can be expanded
by the many
different colors of available inks.
Color expansion in the "tartan" colors of this leprechaun is a good place
to try some
of these different and colorful
inks!)
2. Embossing:
1. Using the small embossing tool emboss all areas of the composition.
2. In boarder circles use a medium embossing
tool to fill in and raise the "larger dots".
3. Painting: (all painting on this composition is done on the front of the design)
1. Use the Pinta -Perla yellow to paint snake and horn... being careful not to go into the bearded area of the design.
2. Use the Pinta-Perla BronzeGreen fill in
the "outer" areas of the Leprechaun's garb. Be careful "not" to paint
the
interior or "closed"
in areas at this time.
3. Using the Pintura LightGreen fill in the "closed" in areas of the leprechaun's body. These parts would be such as the outer arm, interior leg and knee area as well as neck and bottom areas. <see finished composition>.
Dorsing:
1. Using the Ochre crayon, color
in the face, hands and tartan of the leprechaun. blending outwardly
for a soft hue
to these areas.
2. With the soft, light blues and pink
dorsing colors enhance the exterior of the design blending both of these
colors
together. I
used the blue on the inner most part with the pink outwardly.
Perforations:
1. Following grid use the 4 prong tool. Cut away the "x's" in all designated areas.
2. using a single prong tool punch into the single "white" dots of the tartan.
3. Use the two prong tool to go along step by step along the exterior of the outer boarder. Tear away excess paper.
4. Fold on fold line and use your favorite
"Irish" card stock for the finish!!!!
See you next month!!!
