Step 1. Fabric requirements: 16 - 3 1/2"
squares. Purple
16 - 2 1/2" squares. Orange.
Step # 2. Using the templets below make 16 of each of these pieces. When I made the templates below I measured them for the right size to my computer. They should come out to the proper size. If not you will need to make them using the format below.
There are also any number of quilting books and magazines that carry this very popular piece (Drunkard's Path)
*** Or by Using the left button on
your mouse click over each of the templates. A menu should appear
and highlight over the template and then scroll down to the "save image
as" command. Another window will
appear and ask you to give a name to your
fife. Save the file in the .jpg format. When printed out is
"should " come out the right size.***

Step # 3. Making the drunkard path pieces used in this block.

Keep these templates for future use as I
will use them for future block in the months to come *******
1. With right sides together pin piece #1 to piece #2. Your pins should be a bit less than 1//2" apart.
2. Stitch with 1/4" seam. This should give you a 31/2" square.
3. Press seam with the smaller piece to the larger piece.
4. Square up to 31/2" square.
5. You will need 16 squares to complete this block.
Step #4
1. Line up your squares as shown below.

2. Using 1/4" seam sew all the square together. First
vertically then horizontally.
3. Square up to 12 1/2" to complete your block.
