"Summer's Fancy"
Mystery Quilt
Installment # 2

It is a rainy day here to be sure as I sit here in the early morning hours.  The rain however indicates at least there will be no snow!  The month of April here in Michigan is just so unpredictable.
It is my hope that you will find this installment to be easy enough.  I am still feeling pretty bad about the typo I made in installment #1.  Please be sure that you have the corrected measurement from step #3 part 6 to cut at     1-1/2".
I also hope you are enjoying the new diagram layouts.  I am having a lot of fun trying this new process for this mystery quilt!  If you have not completed  installment #1  please do so at this time before going on to this installment.
Now it is time to go on to installment #2.

Step #1.  Cutting instructions:

Using the same cutting instructions as provided in installment #1, cut the same number of pieces as described in step #1 through step #3.  You will need the same number of pieces and cuts as in installment #1.

Step #2.  Assembly:

1.  Following diagram #5 below, lay out your pieces in stacks of 72 or 94 depending on the size you have chosen.

2.  The color alignment for this step, as shown in the top row of the diagram, should be color #3, #1, #3, #3, #2, #3.
The colors in second row in the diagram should be, color #3, #1, #3, #3, #2, #3.

diagram #5
3.  Sew together your rows as you did in installment #1.

4.  Trim as necessary to have rows measuring 1 7/8" in height.

* note you may find it helpful as we go along to place each completed row in its own baggie and mark each baggie as installment #1 row 1 right, or row 1 left and so on as we go along. It is important to be able to identify each row as they are completed for future placement.
This completes installment #2.

The next installment will be posted for you  on April 27, 1998.   See you then!
