With any luck and with the thanks of my
youngest
sister, I hope to be able to provide this the next installment of the
'Summer's
Fancy' Mystery Quilt. The delays have been as many of you know,
do
to some health concerns. Though not resolved at this time I
hopefully
will be able to complete this project in a timely sequence.
Well now we are looking at Memorial Day Weekend. We
are having a gentle spring rain here right now. And this rain is
very much needed! The air feels fresh and the birds can be heard
in the back ground. Thinking about the cold weather that is only
months away is so difficult to imagine when I look out my windows
now.
But think about these cooler days we must. And so making our
quilts
to warm us is also a must and one that is so enjoyable.
Also it has become necessary for me to make
some other changes as I work out the continious development of this
page.
My sister, who's help I so desperately have needed to continue this
project,
has done all the future figures and diagrams under my direction.
Many of the diagrams will be simplified and I will not be adding any
other
digital photos at this time. I apologize for this and hope that
the
remainder of the Mystery Quilt is easy for you all to follow.
If you have not completed
installment
#1, installment #2 ,
installment #3 and installment
#4 please do so at this time before going on to this
installment.
Now it is time to go on to installment #5. You will
find it necessary to lay out your pieces in stack according to the
diagrams
below. These will not necessarily reflect the row by row
developemnt
of previous steps.
Step #1. (group a)
1. Using the various strips that you have sewn together in
earlier steps you will now construct the pieces into
sections following these diagrams:

These
remaining pieces will be
assembled in the next steps.****

and 94 pieces for the full size quilt.
3. Press and then shore up the diagonal sides so that the
upper and lower edges measure 5 1/2".
Step #2. (group b)
1. Using the various strips that you have sewn
together
in earlier steps you will now construct the pieces into
