Step # 1. Fabric Requirement:
You will use color #2 for this step. ****
Please note that the 2 1/2" x 44" is a correction to the instructions
in
step #1.
<this is one reason that I suggested that you do not cut
your
fabrics until we
get to each step. I apologize for the error and inconvience this
may cause.>
twin full
| 12 - 2 1/2" x 44" strips | 15 - 2 1/2" x 44" strips |
Step # 2. Cutting your fabrics.
1. Lay out your fabric strips as shown in the diagram
below.
With a pencil mark you strip every 7" as shown
below.
2. Mark with a pencil across the diagonal as shown in the diagram.
3. Cut along the straight lines at this time to make your 7" rectangles using the pencil marks that you made.
4. Following the pencil marks made on the diagonal cut your rectangles.

5. For the twin size quilt you will have 72 diagonal cuts and for the full size quilt you will have 94 diagonal cuts.
Step # 2. Constructing your pieces
1. Using a 1/4" seam allowance. Sew your diagonal
pieces
together as shown below.

2. Using the pieces completed in step #7. Set this
piece
in on both sides as shown below. When setting in these
pieces you must begin at the
outside
edges and work toward the point. You will be cutting off the
excess
to
match the straight cross pieces on each
side.
This completes Installment # 8. The mystery is getting closer and
closer to being solved!!!
